Dear parents/guardians,
Welcome to kindergarten classroom. I am very excited to have your child in my class this year. OACS has worked very hard during this summer to prepare a safe environment for our students. My commitment is to help your child fall in love with Jesus. Thank you for your commitment to Christian education. I am praying to God for a blessed/safe school year.
I am going to take some time to tell you a little about my professional background and hobbies. My name is Risobel Torres and I am originally from Puerto Rico. I speak Spanish and English. I studied at the University of Puerto Rico where I completed a bachelor’s degree in Exceptional Education, K-12. I have credentials to be a lead teacher in a VPK program. I also have the credential to be a day care director/operator. I have been in this school, Osceola Adventist Christian for 11 years. Before that I had my own home day care and I also homeschooled my own children for 3 years. Prior to that, I taught for 4 years at Stonewall Jackson Middle School (OCPS). I was a self-contained classroom teacher. As you can see my passion is teaching and being around children. I love to run. I have participated in 5Ks, 10Ks, half marathons, marathons, and triathlons. I enjoy outdoor activities such as kayaking and hiking.
I am married to a wonderful man. His name is Javier Perez. Currently, he is working as a 6th grade science teacher. I have two handsome boys. Jadiel is my oldest. He is a mechanic for Seminole School District. Jeziel is my youngest one and he will attend Valencia Community College. His goal is to become a firefighter.
I feel that is very important that we work as a team in order to best provide your child with a successful experience. For that reason, I would like to be in contact with you as much as possible.
