Principal

Principal - Dr. Ancil Samuel

With more than 34 years of dedicated service in education—32 of those in Seventh-day Adventist institutions—Dr. Samuel brings a wealth of experience, strong spiritual leadership, and a deep passion for Christian education to her role as Principal of OACS. Her teaching journey has taken her across St. Vincent and the Grenadines (her homeland), St. Thomas (USVI), New York, and Florida.

Dr. Samuel holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and English and a Master of Arts in Educational Administration from Andrews University. She earned her Doctorate in Educational Management from Universidad de Montemorelos. Additionally, she holds both a professional teaching
certificate and an administrative certificate from the Southern Union and the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists.

As Principal, she leads with a heart of servant leadership and a philosophy of shared governance.
She posits that working in Seventh day Adventist schools is a sacred calling where faith and
learning must always be integrated. It is her belief that student success is a collaborative effort
between God, educators, parents, and students, and she is committed to fostering an environment
where every child can grow spiritually, academically, emotionally, socially, and physically.

She is married to her childhood friend, Cordel, and they have two adult children: Larnell, a
senior at Southern Adventist University, and Charel, a senior at Oakwood University. Outside of
her professional responsibilities, she enjoys singing, traveling, and cooking.

Her guiding principle is:
“When we surrender completely to God, amidst the difficulties life throws at us… He orders our
steps.”

With great excitement and humility, she invites families to join OACS in a new school year with
God at the core.
“Come and experience being “ROOTED in Christ”—knowing that a firm foundation awaits you
and your child.”
