Step Up For Students (SUFS) was created to help alleviate the enormous educational challenges faced by children in Florida by providing Tax Credit Scholarships to students in K-12 who come from low-income families. These scholarships allow the students to consider a private school that may better suit their individual needs. This choice is not based on whether the public school is judged as succeeding or failing. Rather, it recognizes that different children learn in different ways and that our collective struggle is to help the students who often are at the greatest disadvantage in modern education.  SUFS helps low-income families participate in school of choice options, such as Osceola Adventist Christian School.  The program covers much of the cost of private tuition that may otherwise be unaffordable.  Click here to apply to SUFS.

Florida's school choice programs ensure that no child will be left behind by allowing parents to choose the best educational setting—public or private—for their child. The McKay Scholarships for students with Disabilities Program provided over 20,500 Florida students with special needs the opportunity to attend a participating private school.

Osceola Adventist Christian School (OACS) is a McKay Scholarship provider. Because of the many differences among children with disabilities, a screening interview is required before a student is accepted. This screening allows the parents and school to decide if OACS is the best learning environment for each child.  The McKay program helps students with an Individual Education Plan or 504 Plan at OACS obtain a private education.  The program covers much of the cost of private tuition that otherwise without assistance may be unaffordable.  In order to maximize our ability to provide a sound continuum of services for the 2013-2014 school year, OACS will only be accepting new McKay Scholarship students who are soley designated as having Speech/Language Therapy needs. To find out more about McKay Scholarships and OACS tuition, please contact the school at 407-348-2226.  Click here to apply for McKay.
