7th & 8th Grades - Debbie Miolan

Deborah Miolan has a passion for Jesus, teaching and working with children and youth. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA, but grew up in Kissimmee, FL from the age of two. She was the Valedictorian of her class at Gateway High School, earned an A.A. degree from Valencia College and earned her B.A. degree in Journalism from Florida Southern College with summa cum laude honors.

After working in editing and publishing for several years, she entered the field of education and taught 7th grade Reading & Language Arts in the Osceola County School District. While there, she earned ESOL certification and the Masters-level Reading Endorsement. She taught literature, writing and reading skills to students of all reading levels including ESE, ESOL and Gifted students.

She later stepped back from teaching to raise her wonderful children—Carilyn, 15, Lily, 13, and Jonah, 11. During the 2023-2024 school year, she worked as a substitute teacher at OACS and accepted the position of 7th & 8th grade Homeroom teacher and Literacy & Social Studies teacher for grades 5-8 for the 2024-2025 school year.

Mrs. Miolan enjoys spending time with her children and two dogs, Benny and Darla, as well as serving in her church as a children’s Sabbath School teacher and in Women’s Ministries. She also loves to travel, read, spend time with God and go to the beach.
